Off-beat humour for "vocal harassment"
X-Filles is a vocal group which, since 1999, has brought together six female singers with the same desire : to break down the frontiers between singing and the theatre. All from the Caen choral scene, they seek to explore a vocal universe, always seeking the eccentric, confirming their identity as singing comediennes.
Disturbing, amusing and quite simply gifted, they handle their comedy and humour as well as they handle their voices. Each one brings her own style and vocal colour to unbridled and creative performances, both musical and theatrical, in collaboration with their producer Ben Valter. They are responsable for their own artistic direction.
Their repertoire stretches from Bach to Christian Deschamps, from the song of Sybille to Carmen. From their comic roots, les X-Filles do not hesitate to plunge into a deeper or more serious repertoire . At home with Vian, Bobby Lapointe, Chaplin and the "Frères Jacques", they tastefully link these playlets and each song, each improvisation, inspires an even more humorous interpretation. From a classical and traditional world, french or other, they take us to a foreign country where poetry and incongruity unite.
The show "Harcelement vocal" which has toured in Normandy and Paris is celebrating its second birthday and always inspires the same enthusiastic response from the public : no doubt because of the magic if its scenery - although somewhat simple - a wind-break, a dustbin, three chairs and a gong. All this is staged and illuminated by the harmony of their voices, by wild rhythm and astonishing interpretations.
The singers : Gaëlle Boiron, Marie-Paule Bonnemason, Florence Cramoisan, Isabelle Gancel, Claire Garrigue and Sophie Girard.
